Cancellation Message

By now it will come as no surprise that summer engagements are changing and adapting to these unprecedented times.  While we hoped nevertheless to welcome our audiences and musicians to beautiful Cape Cod this August for music and camaraderie, safety and continuing health concerns now definitively preclude our plans.  As of Friday, May 1 the Board of the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, in accordance with the recommendations of the Executive and Artistic Directors, voted to cancel the live performances of our 2020 summer season. We are, however, planning exciting alternative events that you can attend virtually from the best seat in your house!

While we regret the absence of live concerts, please know that we choose this direction for our collective health and well-being.  Our audience, artists, volunteers and staff remain our priority. We send you our deepest gratitude for all your Festival support in the past and look forward to sharing our musicians and live productions with you again in 2021.

In August this year we will bring you three hours of archived audio performances from the 40-year history of the Festival, curated and narrated by Jon and Jon. These will be available to hear on our website and on a number of radio stations.   We will also present a streamed video session with messages and clips from a number of past Festival musicians.  Finally, Jon and Jon will record a video for your listening and viewing pleasure.  We hope to make all of this available to you in August and September. It’s a new way for us to share music with you and we are excited about the its potential reach.

We hope you will join us in both supporting and enjoying the events we have planned for 2020.

We look forward to another August together with optimism and gratitude.
